Special Meeting Minutes
Town Office Building April 15, 2010
Selectmen’s Conference Room 10:30 A.M.
First Selectman Mailhos called the meeting to order at 10:30 A.M. with the following in attendance: Selectman Millix and residents. Selectman Blessington was absent.
A. Approve CIP
First Selectman Mailhos said that last week the regular Board of Selectmen reaffirmed the original recommendation to the Board of Finance that we keep 2 fire trucks in the CIP plan for purchase this year. The Board of Finance did not approve. In the meantime, the 2 fire departments have met and came to an agreement. Selectman Millix said the two departments produced a plan that addressed the concerns of the Board of Finance. The agreement states that they agree with the Board of Finance, and will only purchase one truck this year. Separate Operational Agreements have been made between the two departments.
First Selectman Mailhos moved to approve the CIP Plan with modification: replace ET249 for $475,000 Fiscal year 2010-2011 with first lease payment to be made in July of 2011. Replacement of ET213 to fiscal year 2012-2013.
Selectman Millix seconded the motion.
Vote: 2 Yes (Mailhos & Millix) 0 No.
Melissa Welsh thanked Selectman Millix for reconsidering and working out the issue. First Selectman Mailhos agreed and said it is her understanding that the collaboration of the two departments is unprecedented.
Meeting was adjourned the meeting at 10:58 A.M.
